Cookies and storage on your device
Rentlo only stores on your device what is needed for the functions you request. We only switch on optional functions (maps from Google, the AI search with Claude, ads from Google, advertising and statistics) once you agree. This version applies from 1 November 2026. We do not use third-party analytics trackers; ads from Google are non-personalised.
Changing your choice
- Right here on this page: in the section Your settings below.
- Website: "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- App: Profile › Privacy.
On your first visit we ask once in the consent banner, on the website and in the app. Your choice then applies to all Rentlo pages (rentlo.de and its subdomains) and the app on this device; if you are signed in, we also store it in your account so that it follows you to your other devices. There are no further prompts per map or per search.
There you can switch each category on or off individually. A withdrawal takes effect immediately; the storage entries of the category are deleted. We ask you again after 12 months or if the categories change.
Necessary
These cookies and storage entries are strictly necessary for signing in, security and the settings you have chosen. They do not require consent (section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG); we base the processing on Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Without consent you see a placeholder instead of the map. You consent in the consent banner (category "Google Maps", also with "Accept all") or with "Load map" on a map. Your consent then applies to all maps on Rentlo (website and app) until you withdraw it. Only then does your device connect to Google. Google then receives, among other things, your IP address; processing in the USA is possible. Details are in the privacy policy, no. 7.

Without consent the Rentlo values only remain in the memory of the open page and are not stored on your device; no code from Google is loaded at all, and you only see ads from Rentlo and directly booked advertising partners. Google processes, among other things, your IP address, including in the USA. Details are in the privacy policy, no. 15a, and at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
What we do not use
No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no personalised advertising, no cross-device tracking and no fingerprinting. We load fonts and program libraries from our own server.
