On Rentlo, commercial rental companies offer their vehicles. Here we explain the order in which we show you vehicles and Shorts (section 5b(2) UWG, Art. 246d EGBGB).
Which vehicles appear?
You only see vehicles that match your search: location and radius, period, category and all filters set (for example price, brand, transmission, deposit, delivery, minimum age or years of holding a licence). We hide vehicles that are booked in the selected period.
Default sorting "Recommended"
Unless you choose otherwise, we sort by these main parameters, in this order:
- Match with your search term. Vehicles whose brand, model, category or equipment better match your input appear higher. This parameter carries the most weight.
- Rentlo Club participation. If the match is equal, vehicles of Club partners come first. Club partners are rental companies that give members of the Rentlo Club the Club benefits and bear them themselves (for example 1 to 10 % discount depending on the Club level). Participation is free of charge and open to every rental company; for you it means a lower price.
- Ongoing discount campaign. Next, vehicles with an ongoing discount campaign of the rental company or a Rentlo campaign come first, because you currently rent them for less.
- Rating of the rental company. Next, the average rating of the rental company by customers with a completed rental decides.
- Distance. Finally, the vehicle that can be picked up closer to the location searched appears higher.
Each parameter only decides if all previous ones are equal.
Other sort orders
You can change the order at any time: price ascending or descending, distance, most horsepower, best rating, newest listings or year of manufacture. Then only the chosen criterion applies.
No paid placements
Rental companies cannot buy their position in search. The amount of service fee that rental companies pay to Rentlo does not influence the order. A discount campaign or Rentlo Club participation only has an effect because it lowers the price for you. Should we offer paid placements in future, we will label them as "Ad".
Shorts feed
In the feed we show approved Shorts from rental companies and from Rentlo. If you choose a city, a category, a topic or a language, we only show matching Shorts. Shorts that the Rentlo team highlights editorially appear first, followed by the newest. We show Shorts of Club partners (see above) a little more often. Highlighting cannot be bought. Advertising may appear between the Shorts; it is labelled "Ad" and names the advertiser. We only select ads based on context (for example city or category), not on a personal profile.
Results of votes in Shorts (Love-o-Meter, poll) influence neither the order in the feed nor in search.
Trust score and badges
On vehicle and rental company pages we show badges such as "Verified by Rentlo" or "Responds quickly". They are based on a trust score made up of reviews, response time, cancellation rate, acceptance rate, verification status, experience and completeness of the profile. The score does not influence the ranking.
Who is your contracting party?
You conclude the rental contract with the rental company, not with Rentlo. According to their own declaration, all rental companies on Rentlo are traders; consumer protection rules therefore apply to your contract. You see the rental company's name, address and contact details before booking in the "Contracting party" step.
