Support & help›At what age can I rent a supercar?
Each rental company sets its own rules. For supercars and very powerful vehicles, the minimum age is often 25 to 30, plus several years of holding a licence.
How many years of driving experience do I need?
Depending on the car, rental companies usually require one or more years of driving experience, more for sports cars. The exact requirement is shown in the offer, and the “Licence held since” filter shows you only matching cars.
Is there still a young driver surcharge at 23?
With some rental companies, yes, often up to the age of 25. Others don't charge one. Whether a surcharge applies is stated in the terms of each car.
Is the deposit higher for drivers under 25?
The deposit depends mainly on the car, not on your age. With some rental companies, however, the excess is higher for younger drivers. Both are shown in the offer before you send a request.
Can my passenger drive the car too?
Only if they are registered as an additional driver and meet the minimum age and licence duration themselves. Additional drivers are usually charged per day. If someone drives without being registered, the insurance cover may not apply.
What is Rentlo?
Rentlo is a marketplace for all kinds of rental vehicles in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You rent directly from verified local rental companies.
How does renting in Bavaria work?

Which payment methods are available?
Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay, iDEAL and Klarna. For some vehicles you can pay 10 % online and the rest in cash at pick-up.

Guide
Which cars can you rent from 23?
From 23, many rental companies release premium models, convertibles and some sports cars in addition to mid-size cars and SUVs. For supercars and very powerful vehicles, however, the minimum age is often 25 to 30. This page only shows cars with a minimum age of 23 or lower.
Don't forget years of driving experience
Besides age, driving experience counts: for sports and premium cars, rental companies often require several years of holding a licence. The “Licence held since” filter shows which offers suit you. Bring your original driving licence and a valid ID to pick-up.
Deposit and excess for powerful cars
The more valuable and powerful the car, the higher the deposit and excess usually are. A protection package such as Smart or Sorglos reduces your risk if there's damage. Also check the included mileage, which is often limited for sports cars.
