Where does the handover take place?

You agree this with the rental company, often at a specific exit, in a short-stay parking area or in a car park near the station. Ask for the place to be described as precisely as possible. At large stations, a pin on a map helps.

What happens if my train is delayed?

Contact the rental company as soon as you know about the delay and give the new arrival time. It's best to clarify when booking how long they'll wait and whether there are costs. With your train number in the request, the rental company can plan better.

Can I return the rental car at the station?

Yes, if the rental company offers a collection service. You agree the place, time and any costs in advance. Allow enough time before your train departs.

Is combining train and rental car worthwhile?

Often yes: you cover long distances relaxed on the train and avoid motorway traffic jams, yet you're still mobile once you arrive. It's especially practical for destinations without good public transport. Compare rental period and delivery costs to make sure it adds up.

Which documents do I need to bring?
