No, Rentlo doesn't offer a special student discount. You can still save, for example with multi-day discounts from many rental companies, deals and Rentlo Club points. Also compare weekday prices.
Can I rent a car at 18 or 19?
With some rental companies, yes, but many require a higher minimum age or several years of holding a licence. The conditions are shown with every offer. Some rental companies charge young drivers a surcharge or a higher deposit.
Can I rent a car without a credit card?
That depends on the vehicle. Depending on the offer, you can also pay the deposit by PayPal, bank transfer or in cash at pick-up, and some rental companies even rent without a deposit. You can pay the rental price with PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay or Google Pay, for example.
Which vehicle is best for moving into a flatshare?
For a room in a shared flat, a small van or a large estate car is usually enough. With a category B licence, you can drive vans up to 3.5 tonnes. Check the load volume and the dimensions of your largest pieces of furniture beforehand.
Can we share the driving?
Yes, if everyone who drives is registered as an additional driver and meets the rental company's requirements. Additional drivers usually cost extra per day. Passengers who don't drive don't need to be registered.
Can I drive home for the weekend in a rental car?
Of course. Many rental companies have a weekend rate from Friday to Sunday or Monday. For longer distances, check the included mileage and the price per extra kilometre. It pays to send your request early, especially before public holidays.

Moving flats with a small van
For moving into a new room, a small van that you can drive on a category B licence is often enough. Organise helpers and boxes in advance, and the 8-hour hourly rate might be all you need. Vans are in demand at the start of term and at the end of each month, so it pays to request early.
Saving without a student discount
There's no dedicated student discount, but you can still save: rent during the week, compare the included mileage with your route and use multi-day discounts, deals and Rentlo Club points. If several of you are travelling, split the costs, but everyone who drives must be registered as a driver.
Minimum age and years with a licence
Each rental company decides from what age and after how many years of holding a licence you can rent. Some rent from 18, many only from 21 or older, and often even later for more powerful cars. The licence-held-since filter quickly shows which offers are right for you.
