Support & help›What does an extra kilometre cost?
Each rental company sets this per car, and it's shown in the offer. For high-end cars, the price per extra kilometre is usually higher than for small cars. If you're planning a lot of kilometres, a mileage package or flat rate is often cheaper.
What is a mileage package?
A mileage package extends the included kilometres of your rental by a fixed allowance at a package price. You add it directly in the app. It's worthwhile if you'll go over the included kilometres but don't need a flat rate.
Are there sports cars with unlimited mileage?
Very rarely. For sports and luxury cars, the included mileage is almost always limited because every kilometre affects the car's value more. Check the prices for extra kilometres and mileage packages there.
Can I drive abroad with unlimited mileage?
Unlimited mileage says nothing about trips abroad. Whether and to which countries you may drive is set by the rental company, often only if agreed in advance and sometimes with a cross-border authorisation. Clarify this before booking.
Does the mileage flat rate also apply to long-term rentals?
As a rule, the terms apply to the entire booked period, whether a weekend, a week or a month. Some rental companies set their own limits for long-term rentals, though. The exact terms are shown in the offer.

Guide
Keep an eye on costs along the way
Fuel or charging costs, tolls and vignettes grow with the distance. In Austria and Switzerland you need a vignette for motorways, so ask the rental company whether a valid one is available for the car. Refuel before the return as agreed, otherwise the rental company will charge for the missing fuel.
Included kilometres, package or flat rate?
Most offers state how many kilometres per day are included and what each extra kilometre costs. Some rental companies offer unlimited mileage, while others let you add mileage packages. Estimate your distance realistically beforehand and compare the total cost of the three options.
Who benefits from unlimited mileage
A mileage flat rate pays off above all for road trips, holiday drives or longer rentals with a daily commute. For short trips around town, an offer with included kilometres is often enough. Sports and luxury cars rarely come with a flat rate, and their included mileage is usually tight.
