With many rental companies, yes, because they offer a multi-day discount. How big the difference is, each company decides for itself. Simply compare the daily rate and the weekly rate in the app.
How many kilometres are included in a weekly rental?
That's stated in every offer. Some rental companies calculate included kilometres per day, others give a weekly allowance. If you plan to drive a lot, look for mileage packages or unlimited kilometres.
Can I extend a weekly rental?
Often, yes, if the vehicle isn't booked afterwards. Contact the rental company early and have the extension confirmed. From four weeks, a monthly rental can also be worthwhile.
Can I return the car early?
That depends on the rental company's terms. With weekly rates, there's often no partial refund for an early return. If in doubt, ask before booking.
Can I take the rental car abroad on a week's holiday?
Many rental companies allow trips to certain countries, sometimes only with a cross-border authorisation or for a fee. Clarify this before booking and have it confirmed. Don't forget vignettes, for example in Austria and Switzerland.
Do I need a higher deposit for a week?
The deposit mainly depends on the vehicle, not the rental period. It's stated in the offer and, depending on the rental company, paid online or at pick-up. It is released after the return if everything is in order.

Replacement car while yours is in the garage
If your own car is in the garage for a week, a weekly rental is a simple stopgap. Check with your insurer or garage beforehand whether they will cover part of the cost, and keep the rental company's invoice. If the repair is delayed, ask the rental company about an extension early on.
Why a weekly rental often pays off
Many rental companies offer a multi-day discount for longer rentals, so the price per day for seven days is often lower than for individual days. In the app, the weekly rate appears as its own price tile. If you need the car for five or six days, compare it with the weekly price: sometimes the full week costs hardly any more.
Plan your mileage for seven days
Depending on the rental company, included kilometres apply per day or as an allowance for the whole week. Roughly add up your planned journeys, including day trips at your destination. For a holiday with lots of driving, a mileage package or an offer with unlimited kilometres is worthwhile.
