With some rental companies, yes: you pay the deposit in cash at pick-up and get it back after the return if everything is in order. Whether that's possible is shown in the deposit section of the car.
Is a debit card enough for the deposit?
That's up to the rental company. Some accept debit cards at pick-up, others only credit cards or other payment methods. Check the deposit types listed or ask before booking.
Can I pay the deposit with PayPal?
For some cars, PayPal is available as a deposit type. You then pay the deposit online before pick-up, and it is released after the return. The deposit type filter shows you which cars offer this.
What does using my own car as collateral mean?
Some rental companies accept your own vehicle as security at pick-up instead of a cash deposit. How exactly this works and which documents are needed is up to the rental company, so it's best to ask before booking.
How do I pay for the rental without a credit card?
On Rentlo you can pay the rental price with Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or Klarna, among others. So a credit card isn't required for that. The deposit is separate and depends on the types the rental company offers.

Plan bank transfers in good time
If you pay the deposit by bank transfer, the money usually has to reach the rental company before pick-up. A standard transfer often takes one to two working days, longer over weekends and public holidays. So don't book at the last minute, or use an instant transfer if your bank offers one.
A debit card is not a credit card
Many rental companies distinguish between credit and debit cards, because with a debit card the money is usually debited straight away rather than just reserved. Whether your card is accepted at pick-up is stated in the offer or can be clarified with a quick question to the rental company. Check beforehand so there are no surprises at handover.
Pay for the rental flexibly
Regardless of the deposit, you pay the rental price on Rentlo with Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna or card, for example. So you don't need a credit card for the booking itself. Bear in mind that a cash deposit or bank transfer stays tied up until it is released after the return.
